I love middle eastern music. I love its rhythms and exotic scales. It has a mysticism that draws me in. Several of my pieces were influenced by middle eastern music. "Behind the Veil" may be the best example of those pieces.

Many of the solo parts were performed with a Dark Star virtual analog synthesizer. I set up the solo parts to that only one note could sound at a time. I also programmed the sounds to glide from one note to another. This made the soloes more organic to my ears and enhanced their middle eastern flavor.
