I have been wanting to collaborate with other musicians for awhile now. For one thing, it would be fun to lay some guitar tracks down on someone else's project. Also, it would expand my horizons a bit. Instead of working exclusively on my own pieces, I would be gaining new experiences from working on and being inspired by the music of others.

I mentioned the desire to work with other musicians to my friend Mike McFarland. He's a very good musician in his own right and often sends pieces he's written for me to listen to. A week or two later, he sent me a piece and offered to let me have a free hand at adding guitar parts to it. So I got out my guitar and started jamming along with it. It wasn't long before I was ready to record my ideas.

My main goal was to compliment what Mike had already done. I didn't want to go crazy with a noodling solo, or anything like that. Just a few little motifs here and there that add a little something extra. I'm pleased with how it turned out. The pieces is bright, positive, and has a driving feel, as if you're traveling in a far land. :-) And I had a blast working on it. This was as much fun as I had imagined it would be. Thanks, Mike!
