Fourth of July, 2007

This is the summer of rain. From the drought of last spring to the daily down pour of rain this summer, 2007 has been a year of extremes. For the past two years, I viewed the July 4th fireworks show over Grapevine Lake from Murrell park. This year, however, Murrell park is practially flooded. I went out there this afternoon, and many of my favorite spots are underwater. It was surreal.

So I thought I might not get to see any fireworks this year, but fortunately a near by high school put on a spectacular show. Surprisingly, the weather was pleasant; no rain. I took a few pictures, and here are the results.
