Synthesis

Creating sounds for my music has been almost as important to me as creating music itself. Just as music can be a form of artistic expression, so too can sound express an artist's intent. Creating sounds to go with music and music to go with sounds form a powerful synergy - one feeds the other. I've been fortunate enough to experience this.

Having said that, there's nothing quite as fun as sitting down at a synthesizer with a bunch of knobs on it and tweaking them till you get something cool.

Over the years, I've learned a few tricks for getting useful sounds out of my synthesizers. I thought it would be nice to share them here. Some of the articles were originally posts to Yahoo's Synth Programming group. In addition to these posts, I hope to share other information here such as code for synthesis algorithms and applications for synthesizing and programming sounds.

I hope you find this section of the website informative and fun.
